Panorama Health UK started up in May 2002, and has since helped many people with Medical problems to achieve immediate cost effective treatment in South Africa.

Now based in Capetown, Harriet Gilbert-Johns, herself an ex-patient, realised that many people on waiting lists in the U.K. would benefit from the knowledge of this medical option. This is her experience –

“In October 2001, I developed a crippling pain in my right hip. Xrays proved inconclusive and I found myself living on painkillers and anti inflamatory tablets with my G.P telling me ‘learn to live with it’. Six months later my quality of life had deteriorated to such an extent that I began my search for a medical solution which is when I discovered South Africa. I flew out on March 19th 2001, went straight to Panorama Medi Clinic for a consultation, had immediate Xrays which showed a serious problem in my right hip. The orthopaedic surgeon recommended re-surfacing (the younger persons hip replacement) and the operation was carried out four days later.

I spent a week recovering in this wonderful hospital, surrounded by the most caring, friendly, helpful nursing staff, so very different from the turmoil of my experience with the NHS. I was determined to expose this option for fellow sufferers, and on my return home in May, 2001, I started Panorama Health UK. I was inundated with enquiries and have helped many people to regain their quality of life, to include hip and knee replacements to heart bypass surgery and every single person has been delighted with the treatment they received.”
