GENERAL INFORMATION

Visiting Hours
Only two visitors will be allowed per patient at one time.
General visiting hours:
10:00-11:00, 15:00-16:00, 19:00-20:00
Please check visiting hours in specialised units, i.e. ICU.

Theatre
No family member will be allowed to accompany a patient into the operating theatre. A theatre waiting area is available.

Smoking
Please note the smoking regulations in the hospital.


SERVICES

Catering
The ward secretary will present the menu to you daily. Should you require a special diet, a dietician will be consulted.

TV/Radio
TV and radio channels can be selected by remote control. Headphones are available at reception.

Pharmacy
Doctors' prescriptions and other pharmacy items can be obtained from the fully equipped pharmacy.

Telephone
A pin number will be issued to make outside calls.

Kiosk
Small gifts, flowers and snacks are sold here.



Restaurant
The restaurant closes at 17:30. Only snacks are available from 15:30.

Chapel
The hospital has a chapel should you wish to have some quiet.

FIRST TIME VISITORS TO CAPE TOWN

The following information may be of benefit:
• The flight is approximately 11½ hours. Depart from Heathrow in the evening and arriving the following morning after breakfast.

• The time difference is one hour in the summer and two during the winter,thus preventing any jet lag.

• Everyone is very friendly,helpful and speaks English.They also drive on the same side of the road.

• Cape Town is very beautiful with amazing places to visit,excellent guest houses,hotels and restaurants to suit all budgets.With the current rate of exchange the recuperation time in Cape Town is very affordable.
